Chronic post thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension: new opportunities for patient management

Abstract

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a special form of pulmonary hypertension, both in terms of etiology, and in terms of treatment. This review presents modern approaches to the management of patients with CTEPH. Today riociguat can be regarded as a method of medical treatment of CTEPH as in inoperable patients with CTEPH, and in patients with persistent or recurrent CTEPH (after surgery).
