Predicting recurrent cardiovascular events at a young age
AbstractThe study is devoted to the investigation of poor prognosis predictors in patients with myocardial infarction under the age of 45 years. In recent years there has been a trend towards an increase in the prevalence of coronary heart disease at a young age. These patients have a lot of modifiable risk factors that result in high rate of recurrent adverse cardiovascular events. It was observed that more than a half of young patients have such risk factors as dyslipidemia, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, overweight and obesity, arterial hypertension and family history of coronary heart disease. Smoking and high aggregation activity of platelets with adenosine diphosphate were recognized as independent risk factors for recurrent adverse cardiovascular events in young patients within a year after myocardial infarction.
