Recurremt myocardial infarction at a young age as a manifestation of essential thrombocythemia

Abstract

Myocardial infarction is a relatively rare first manifestation of essential thrombocythemia however in young patients with essential thrombocythemia acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation is often described as the first thrombotic event and is the first step in the diagnosis of myeloproliferative disease. It is very important to suspect essential thrombocythemia as the main cause of thrombosis in such patients in time.
