Aortic valve reconstruction in infective endocarditis as an alternative to prosthetics
AbstractThe standard of care of aortic valve disease is valve replacement. We represent the cLinical case of a 26-year-old man surgical treatment with infective endocarditis of the aortic valve caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Taking into account young age of the patient and infection process, it was decided to reconstruct the aortic valve with leaflets from autopericardium. Observation within 16 months did not reveal recurrence of the infection or other adverse events.
