The prevalence of hypertension and adherence to its treatment among a wide audience of social networks: results from the internet survey

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of factors associated with varying degrees of adherence to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases among a wide audience of social networks through an internet survey. It is noted that only a small number of respondents suffering from hypertension, observed by a doctor, regularly takes antihypertensive drugs and is available for research. The frequency of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular accidents (myocardial infarction or stroke) naturally increases with age. Were identified independent relationship between the regular supervision of a physician and patient's age, higher education, cardiovascular accidents and other cardiovascular diseases, except hypertension. Age and diabetes mellitus are independent predictors of regularity therapy in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
