Women and hypertension: prevalence, relationship with psychosocial factors in female population aged 25-64 years (epidemiological study based on the WHO program MONICA-psychosocial)

Abstract

SociaL isoLation has Long been associated with increased cardiovascuLar morbidity and mortaLity. It is therefore necessary to study the prevaLence of such psychosociaL risk factors for cardiovascuLar disease as personaL anxiety (PA) and sociaL support (SP) in the open popuLation. According to strict epidemioLogicaL criteria, according to the ProtocoL of the MONICA program, were examined 870 women aged 25-64 years one of the districts of Novosibirsk.

The prevaLence of anxiety in the femaLe popuLation is very high - 60%. There is a trend of increasing the proportion of women with hypertension among those with Low SP. The study showed the importance of examining RT and SP at the popuLation LeveL and their reLationship with such sociaL characteristics as maritaL status, education and occupationaL status.
