Peripartum cardiomyopathy in combination with a thromboembolism of pulmonary artery
AbstractPeripartum cardiomyopathy is a life-threatening disease of unknown etiology, which occurs in previously healthy women and characterized by the development of systolic dysfunction of left ventricular and symptomatic heart failure during the last month of pregnancy or 5 months after giving birth. The article presents a clinical case of peripartum cardiomyopathy and pulmonary embolism, heart attack-pneumonia, in a patient with severe preeclampsia at the term of 35-36 weeks. Early diagnosis, timely and adequate treatment of congestive heart failure, anticoagulation therapy and the prevention of sudden death improve the prognosis of this disease.
