Embologenic myocardial infarction: the view of endovascular surgeon

AbstractIt is known that about 7% of deaths from myocardial infarction (MI) have no atherosclerotic lesions of the coronary artery (CA). Myocardial necrosis, which developed as a result of ischemic imbalance in case of intact CA, refer to type 2 MI. Coronary embolism (CE) is one of the main pathogenetic variants of this MI. Cases embologenic MI quite regularly encountered in clinical practice. Currently, criteria for CE are developed. Reperfusion and medical therapy in patients with embologenic MI are characterized some several features.
