Modern view on the patients' adherence to long-term treatment

AbstractThe article is devoted to the literature review on patients' adherence to long-term treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The main causes of noncompliance of medical recommendations and the factors affecting the continuation and failure of the therapy were considered. Use the division of the non-compliance to the intentional (the intentional stop of treatment or continued of treatment) and unintentional (regular drugs taking). The methods of measuring and evaluating the patients' adherence to treatment, and interventions aimed at improving patients' adherence to therapy were analyzed.
