Twenty-four hour monitoring and self-monitoring of blood pressure: a new emphasis of efficient use

Abstract

Blood pressure (BP) measurement is the basis of the diagnosis of arterial hypertension, the decision of a question on the beginning of antihypertensive therapy and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Adequate diagnosis and treatment of patients with arterial hypertension are not possible only on the basis of single measurements of BP. The article discusses the application of outpatient methods of registration of BP.
